Ethical and Legal Considerations for the Reiki Practitioner (Day 1)

This 8 hour workshop is for Reiki practitioners who wish to have those uncommon discussions about the ethics and legal considerations when providing a professional Reiki healing service. For those of you who also offer other modalities, this will still have relevance.
We will cover topics such as:
- working with difficult clients
- transparency in how you work with clients
- clear communication both in person and in your marketing information
- standards of professional practice
- liability issues
- scope of practice
- professional and personal boundaries
- records/privacy under PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act)
- home based vs. office space businesses
- insurance requirements
- information gathering/consent
- firing clients
- record maintenance
- emails/web security and rules
- handling out of country clients
- electronic payment
Through case studies, reflections, discussion and presentations, participants will learn what is necessary when considering working with the public professionally.

Shirley Lynn Martin has been offering Reiki Ryoho (and other healing art modalities and life and spiritual development coaching) as a professional practitioner for 20 years and has been a Reiki Ryoho master/teacher for 16 years. She has been a member of various professional organizations and has been proactive in receiving both professional individual and group supervision during her years as a professional.
Jennifer Godwin is a full time Paralegal with over 31 years experience in various areas of law and all levels of the Canadian courts. She registered, maintained and ran her own 3 provincial corporations from 2009 to 2015. On a part time basis, Jennifer currently runs her own practice of: Cranial Sacral (since 2009), Reiki Ryoho Level II (since 2017) and Soul Realignment® (2019).
