SUMMARY:Connecting with the Flow of Chi
DESCRIPTION:Re-Scheduled date:\nJoin me for this Special Opportunity to spend the day “in the flow” with Junji Kanai\, a shiatsu massage therapist for more than 30 years. I have asked him to teach us more about following and understanding ‘chi’ in the body. \nJunji Kanai initially studied philosophy and theology and then worked as a Mennonite pastor for years before following his path to becoming a healer. In 1978\, he decided to become a Shiatsu Therapist after hearing these words from a man he had helped – “Junji\, you should be a therapist \, you have a gift of healing”. Junji studied massage and Shiatsu in both Canada and Japan. His Shiatsu techniques and philosophy are heavily influenced by the late Shiatsu Master Shizuto Masunaga\, and Junji has since developed and refined his own method. Now in his 70s\, Junji still works from his knees and his ‘bed’ is a futon on the floor. \nJunji will speak to his understanding that we human beings have our own innate healing energy\, and as long as this energy flows within the body with ease we are healthy. When this healing energy flow becomes dis-ease\, then we call this condition ‘disease’. Junji will share his techniques and philosophy with us\, teaching us how to make the healing energy flow with ease from dis-ease. The day includes lots of opportunity for questions and conversation. Junji promises “to answer you as much as I know.” \nI am opening this opportunity up first to Reiki students  – after March 15th\, any available spots will be offered to other interested persons who have not studied Reiki. Please note that you will not be a shiatsu therapist at the end of the day. DESCRIPTION:This full-day workshop will give you the opportunity to meet and interact with the multiple species who share their lives together on a farm near Arthur. Find out how these individuals found their way to this Healing Farm\, the stories they embrace and those they have released. \nYou will have the opportunity to listen\, learn and share Reiki with these animals who have chosen to partner with us on this day. A strong emphasis will be placed on observation of behaviour\, listening with your heart\, and being respectful in all our interactions. Come with a spirit of openness – be prepared to accept the gifts of healing and insight you may be given throughout the day. \nThe day will begin with familiarizing you to the Gilbert Farm\, basic handling and welfare concerns of the animals\, as well as introducing you to the various characters who call this place home. The Gilberts embrace Veganism\, reflecting their commitment that all who live here are loved and respected\, and not to be exploited. We invite you to honour this principle while a guest to their farm. \nThe workshop includes opportunities to observe a couple Reiki demonstrations\, as well as practise Reiki with animal partners. SUMMARY:Animal Reiki: Enhancing your Gift of Healing and Connection with Animals
DESCRIPTION:Want a stronger connection with the animals in your life?\n\n\nLooking for useful tips when offering Reiki to animals?\n\n\nNot feeling confident that you are an effective channel?\n\n\nThis new workshop is open to all Reiki practitioners at all levels of training. It is designed to enhance your present skills with new knowledge\, awareness and confidence in offering Reiki to the animals in your life. \nWe will begin the day with an exploration of what connection with our animal companions really means. We will follow with a discussion of the relationship between connection and Reiki – especially how we offer treatments to animals. What are the elements of a good treatment? What are the pitfalls to look out for? \nThis workshop is highly interactive with lots of opportunity for shared learning. We will not be practicing Reiki on animals at this event; rather we will focus on building a solid foundation that will carry you forward into deeper and more fulfilling Reiki sessions with the animals in your lives. We all know we are ‘sensitive’. Reiki is a heart path and so if we weren’t sensitive before\, we are now! Most of us have always been sensitive\, so learning Reiki was a natural step\, even if we didn’t initially know why. What I have come to understand is that as highly sensitive souls\, we also have a common passion for beauty\, art\, and aesthetics. \nIn our June 2012 retreat we began our exploration and honouring of our sensitivity. This time we will continue that journey and will also connect it with our creativity. So even if you weren’t there in June\, you will want to come.
