Together let us nurture our spirits and plant seeds of our soul’s dream through ritual\, reflection and renewal.\n\nThis Peace Circle is for those who want to gather and celebrate Winter Solstice. Amidst the anxiety\, the clamor of voices that polarize or fray our nerves\, let’s allow ourselves to just be ‘still’ and listen in the quiet\, in the dark\, in the surrender of what is seeking to be birthed in the Great Mystery. \nWinter Solstice has long been recognized as the first day of winter – the shortest and darkest day of the year. It occurs when the Northern Hemisphere is furthest from the sun. According to its Latin roots\, the word solstice means “sun standing still\,” and winter solstice has been recognized across many cultures as a time to celebrate the gradual return of the light. Winter Solstice can be a ceremony to signal a clear end of one stage of life and a conscious beginning of another. It is mirrored in nature\, as the seeds are buried in the darkness of the Earth\, to emerge once again with the life-giving rays of the Sun. \nThis Peace Circle is an invitation to join and answer our heart’s call to act with courage\, to step into the dark of the season and free ourselves from what hides our truth. DESCRIPTION:Re-Scheduled date:\nJoin me for this Special Opportunity to spend the day “in the flow” with Junji Kanai\, a shiatsu massage therapist for more than 30 years. I have asked him to teach us more about following and understanding ‘chi’ in the body. \nJunji Kanai initially studied philosophy and theology and then worked as a Mennonite pastor for years before following his path to becoming a healer. In 1978\, he decided to become a Shiatsu Therapist after hearing these words from a man he had helped – “Junji\, you should be a therapist \, you have a gift of healing”. Junji studied massage and Shiatsu in both Canada and Japan. His Shiatsu techniques and philosophy are heavily influenced by the late Shiatsu Master Shizuto Masunaga\, and Junji has since developed and refined his own method. Now in his 70s\, Junji still works from his knees and his ‘bed’ is a futon on the floor. \nJunji will speak to his understanding that we human beings have our own innate healing energy\, and as long as this energy flows within the body with ease we are healthy. When this healing energy flow becomes dis-ease\, then we call this condition ‘disease’. Junji will share his techniques and philosophy with us\, teaching us how to make the healing energy flow with ease from dis-ease. The day includes lots of opportunity for questions and conversation. Today\, we have different kinds of families\, such as nuclear\, complex\, extended\, step\, adopted\, (un)traditional\, work\, spiritual\, friendship\, college sororities\, even virtual families now. DESCRIPTION:Join your Reiki Community for an evening of celebration and connection. \nPlease bring a picture of a loved one that has passed on into Spirit this past year (animal companion or people companion). We will celebrate them and offer prayers as a way to honour their leaving in 2014. We will also do a Universal Prayer for Peace and Love as a way to bring in the Holiday Season and the year 2015. \nYou are invited to bring some holiday goodies to add to our festivities. Hot beverages will be provided. \nEven if you haven’t come out for a long time\, come out and join us in Reiki Light Prayer and Meditation for all the transitions of 2014 and Open the Doors to 2015!
