Summer Solstice Peace Circle

Celebrating the Abundance of I am Enough

Summer Solstice is the celebration of the longest day, the time where in the Northern Hemisphere we bask in the warmth and beauty of the sun for 14.5 hours.

“Our sun is at the centre of our solar system. Our planet and our lives revolve around its cycles of light and dark. Our inner and outer biological rhythms – as well as the rhythms of every animate and inert part of life – are ruled by this celestial force. Traditionally, it has been associated with warmth, light, happiness, joy, hope, enlightenment, illumination, truth, cheer, goodwill.” Denise Linn, Sacred Destiny Oracle.

The sun carries the deepest energies of expansion and abundance. So it is fitting to take this opportunity and celebrate this solstice to celebrate our abundance within … that we are enough.

Naike Forde, a certified yoga instructor, a registered psychotherapist and a wonderful friend will share her story of going home to the Motherland, to Ghana, to connect with Elders and be among her original people. It was a journey of coming home to herself and being more grounded in who she is today. She came to know she is enough in reconnecting with the place of her original roots and to the light and land of her ancestors.

As in all circles, we will share something of ourselves, make space for journaling, do ceremony and ritual together, and nurture our spirits and hearts and minds and bodies as we take in the story of abundance that we are enough.

Spring Equinox Peace Circle

We have entered into March and the awakening of Spring. At a recent full moon ceremony, I heard an Anishinaabe teaching on Spring that has deeply affected me and has changed the way I relate with Mother Earth at this time. It has also gentled the way I approach my own intentions and actions – given what Mother Earth is doing to make Spring happen.

I’ve asked Anishinaabe Kwe Mary Anne Caibaiosai, a beautiful friend of mine, to come and share this teaching at Peace Circle. Our sharing time, our journaling time, our carrying forward the intentions and seeds we imagined at Winter Solstice aligned with the life force of Spring and our Mother Earth and her thawing waters. Regardless of what is happening in our world, Mother Earth will gift us with Spring.

So come and join me in this online Peace circle to restore yourself, to attune yourself to ‘right action’ in your intentions and imaginal seeds, to connect with women from all walks of life in a time of respect and appreciation for who we are as brave women in our chaotic world.

As before, we will share stories, make space for journaling, do ceremony and ritual together, and nurture our spirits and hearts and minds and bodies. Give yourself the gift of circle to awaken and birth new life into your journey and consciousness and join Peace Circle with all us very brave women!

Summer Solstice Peace Circle and Ceremony: Rising Rooted in Love’s Radiance

Summer Solstice is the longest day of light in the Northern Hemisphere. The Solstice is a time to celebrate the light, and the warmth of the sun which nourishes and stimulates growth and abundance in our environment and in ourselves. Song, dance, play and gardens of goodness and beauty feast our eyes and bodies. In the spring we planted our seeds, our imaginal seeds of our dreams for ourselves, our community, our Earth. We have been nourishing and nurturing our soil, so our seeds can do what they are meant to do. Nothing lofty. Nothing untrue. Joyfully and simply, we have been nurturing what we have planted. Come and celebrate the blooms of your imaginal seeds, your intention and dream to offer gratitude for everything that has supported you along this journey.

Summer, the direction of the south, the place of the child who in wonder, spontaneity and curiosity, in play and laughter delights in the Mother Earth. They learn to rise rooted as they bend down to explore the ant, witness the works of art in the clouds and story themselves in the Mother Earth’s love and abundance while rolling around in her grassy lap. Come, and restore the rooted place of the child within, the hidden radiance of love and in the warmth of the solstice, let your radiance and your dream flow. Come, join us in peace circle and ceremony this summer solstice and rise rooted in Love’s radiance.

Upon registration and payment, circle members will receive an email of preparation and reflection questions and activities intended to encourage circle members to join with open and warm hearts, open and wondering minds, open and grounded bodies, open and brave spirits.

An Angel Scholarship Fund has been set up for to anonymously welcome and support Black, Indigenous and other racialized persons, as well as LGBQT2+ people with limited financial resources to be able to attend Peace Circles.

For anyone who is able, an additional $5, $10, $20 (or whatever amount you would like to contribute) toward the Angel Scholarship Fund for current and future Peace Circle scholarships, will be received with deep gratitude. Contact Shirley Lynn for more details and to contribute.

Spring Equinox Peace Circle and Ceremony: Nurturing the Soil of our Emergence

Join me in this online Peace Circle and ceremony. Through ritual, ceremony, reflection and connection with the freshness of spring and light, we will nurture our spirits and the seeds of our soul’s dream.

Spring Equinox is a time of celebration where day and night, light and dark are in near equal balance. The Light is getting stronger and warmer as we in the North tilt towards the Sun. As the sun crosses the ‘celestial equator’, the increasing light triggers birds to sing and the sprouting of new life. With fertile soil, and seeds that have been nurtured over the winter, we have the ingredients for richness and abundance. This is an ancient and proven process – plant seeds in rich soil, tend with care, allow Nature to follow its own blueprint – and thus we plant the way for food, medicine and shelter. These are the first blessings of Life.

In this Spring Peace Circle, we will gather in circle and ceremony to support our inner/outer soil and our inner/outer environment to sprout and give fresh life to our planted seeds (dreams and goals). The quality of our soil is the quality of our (seeds) emergence and sprouting to new life.

We all have been impacted by the pandemic, by its heaviness, its longevity and its required awakening to the great inequities in our society. We have experienced many losses, many inconveniences, and for too many, deep disparities of available and essential resources. We need ceremony and ritual to restore hope in our spirit. We need circle and ceremony to be in heart-centred relations, dialogue and honest listening to the real stories shaping our lives. Because one day we will emerge from this pandemic – let us emerge with fertile soil and quality seeds sprouting to what will be the gift of new life.

Finding Courage to Free Your Truth

Come. Together let us nurture our spirits and plant seeds of our soul’s dream through ritual, reflection and renewal.

This Peace Circle is for those who want to gather and celebrate Winter Solstice. Amidst the anxiety, the clamor of voices that polarize or fray our nerves, let’s allow ourselves to just be ‘still’ and listen in the quiet, in the dark, in the surrender of what is seeking to be birthed in the Great Mystery.

Winter Solstice has long been recognized as the first day of winter – the shortest and darkest day of the year. It occurs when the Northern Hemisphere is furthest from the sun. According to its Latin roots, the word solstice means “sun standing still,” and winter solstice has been recognized across many cultures as a time to celebrate the gradual return of the light. Winter Solstice can be a ceremony to signal a clear end of one stage of life and a conscious beginning of another. It is mirrored in nature, as the seeds are buried in the darkness of the Earth, to emerge once again with the life-giving rays of the Sun.

This Peace Circle is an invitation to join and answer our heart’s call to act with courage, to step into the dark of the season and free ourselves from what hides our truth. Just as with the Solstice energy, this is a circle to renew our connections to one another and with the numinous through acts of goodwill, special rituals, and heightened awareness.

My name is Shirley Lynn Martin and I’m passionate about activating peace in our hearts and ways of being. I’m passionate about creating sacred space, where together, we develop our collective wisdom to best create a culture of peace and right relationship in every area of our lives.

I have partnered with Karen to create Peace Circles. As a facilitator, I bring 20 years of experience as a Soul Coach, Reiki Master/Teacher, whole life therapist and ordained Reverend. Peace Circles provides a great opportunity for me to bring together my training, my passion, purpose and wisdom. I’m grateful for my diverse formal (as well as informal) training, especially in the field of ‘Circle work’ from some of the best trainers in the field. I honour them as I now step into sharing Peace Circles with you.

My name is Karen McCarthy and I am so happy to join with Shirley Lynn to offer to you the wonderful opportunity of experiencing Peace Circles. I have always had a passion for creating safe and sacred environments for people to come together in community to grow and transform their lives both personally and as a collective. As we transform our own lives, we transform our relationships, our communities, our world.

Along my own journey I have become a Reiki Master, Peace Circle Facilitator, a NLP Master and a dedicated Yogi. (The first part of my career was spent in the business world. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with and coach companies, helping them create dynamic and rich team environments that were based on shared values and principles with a clear, vibrant collective purpose.) All of these paths have nurtured my deep desire and commitment to offering Peace Circles to my community. Creating a rich and meaningful place where we can authentically share our stories, tap into our collective wisdom and magic that is circle and create more peace in our lives.
